Re: Field Service Centers
In Response To: Field Service Centers ()

Dell, I'm not sure that watches are the same as large equiptment. Most 'Authorized Repair Centers" are just that---authorized. That's not the same as Omega only repairmen(or anything only repairmen). When you work on only one thing day after day you have advantages over someone who works on multiiple makes. The fellow in Bienne has 'seen it all' numerous times and I feel can generally repair an Omega blindfolded. He has any part new and availible at hand, as well as all factory service bulletins. He has another expert at the next bench should he have problems. The authorized guy/gal? I don't know where he was trained, when he was trained, or what parts he sticks in my watch(official? , 'generic' same thing?, Used off another movement he has on hand?) I'm not saying these guys are all dishonest or incompetent..... and I have used independant repairpersons when no other option was availible. For me (and it IS personal choice) the BEST facility for each of my watches is who gets them. A bargin seldom is.
