Response to your responses

After reading some of your responses to my little commentary 'STUPID Bond Gagetry', I feel the need to set the record straight on a few things.

First of all, the point I was trying to make through the commentary was how outrageous the ideas keep getting with Bond's gagets.

I felt the Seamaster was a good example. Afterall, this is a discussion forum dedicated to Omega and the Seamaster. Personally, I think the roles for the Seamaster in the Pierce Brosnan movies have become too played out. I can understand this has more to do with Omega than the screenwriters for the movies. After all, Omega couldn't be more pleased, with the attention(as tacky as they get) their product is getting through the movies. C'mon, its just a watch! What will they think of next? Maybe on the next film, they'll give the Seamaster the capability to shoot out its bezel like a projectile weapon. Or, turn the watch into a commlink for Bond, with the helium release valve as a antanna(remember Dick Tracy).

Don't get me wrong. I'm a big Bond fan. I think the cool gagets(as outrageous as some of them are), aside from the babes and the fiendish villans, are what makes a Bond movie. I grew up on Bond movies. When I watched it as a kid, I was more amazed by it because I was ignorant to many things in the real world. But now as an adult, I just feel how ridiculous some elements of the films get. Definately, Bond is still fun to watch.

By the way, John Price, the 2 gagets on my top 10 list(the x-ray shades and Timothy Dalton's Aston Martin) are definately outrageous. But these are the two I wish I could really use! Heh heh.

Peace
