Re: depends of your needs and tastes

Hi

Rolex movments have always been known for being very robust and shock resistant that was the same thing with older Omega inhouse movements. Etas has never been known for having manufactured durable and very robust movements(the eta 2824 and the 2892-2 in its base finish and even slightly modified are pretty average or poor quality movements same can be said on the 7750and the eta 2894-2 with the crappy dubois depra chrono module).I know one guy who never serviced his 1966 sub and it ticks well. The quality of the construction of the calibre is very important when it is made in house it costs more but it avoids bad surprises. I have seen older Omega watches with inhouse movements who were never serviced running well. How well the caliber is concepted tells you how well it is reliable and durable it is. Eta is Eta and it is just a middle of the range movement manufacturer. It is like comparing a basic colt 1911a1 to a custom para ord or a springfield trp pro model.
Quality of craftsmanship and quality of the finsih of the movment makes a huge difference.

just my 2 cents.

regards

georges.
