Both watches are great watches. I've owned a few Seamaster Pro 300M watches and I now own a PO (black 42mm). The PO has a few advantages over the 300M, but also costs about $1000 more. The PO has 600M rather 300M water resistance. It also seems to have better luminocity in low light. It has a very classic look since it is based on the original Seamaster 300. My favorite aspect of the PO is the co-axial movement. It's accurate, goes double the time without service, durable, and is a major step in watch making. I think it's worth the extra money, but you might not.
In addition to that, you need to look at which watch has a better look to you, which is entirely subjective. As far as size goes, I prefer the 42mm since I have smaller wrists, but you need to see which looks best on YOUR wrist.
I would recommend going down to an AD and trying on both the 300M and PO. One will probably stand out.
