Re: New Tissot
In Response To: New Tissot *LINK* ()

: I know that this is an Omega forum, but Tissot
: is part of the Swatch Group so I thought I'd
: post this here. The link below shows a
: picture of the new Tissot I just bought from
: my Omega AD (also a Tissot AD). I wanted to
: get a new quartz watch with a chronograph
: function for sporting events, so I went with
: this new Tissot model PRC 200.

: This watch is an absolute exceptional buy. It's
: a new model and my AD just got this one in
: with the black dial. With an MSRP of $395
: less 33%, this watch costs about what
: routine servicing will cost on one of my
: Omegas.

: The watch is stunning. The dial is gorgeous
: (almost up to Omega standards). In fact, it
: even has applied dial markers. It has a nice
: fitting Breitling Navitimer-esque bracelet
: with a great push button clasp (just like
: Omega). Further, it has two holes in the
: clasp for fine adjustment, which makes me
: wonder why Omega can't do this???

: The reason I am posting this here is because
: I've seen a lot of posts from people asking
: for recommendations on watches in the
: "under $500" or "under
: $300" category. How many Swiss watches
: can you find for less than $300 that come
: with a sapphire crystal, applied markers,
: push-button deployment clasp, 200M water
: resistance with screw-in crown, and
: chronograph function? Not to mention the
: fact that this watch is made by a division
: of the Swatch Group. Omega is a great value
: for the money among high end watches, and
: this watch reinforces my belief that Tissot
: is a great value among mid-level watches.
: The Swatch Group knows how to give you your
: money's worth.

: Just FYI for those of you interested in
: Tissots...

Thanks for the post, John. That is one nice looking watch! And, what a price for a Swiss Made watch! I think I just may call your AD and order one. By the way, which one did you get? White dial, black, or blue? The blue is nice, althought I do like the yellow second hand on the black one.
