: I am considering adding another watch to the
: collection; it is a sickness.
: The relevant watches now in the collection are:
: a Bell and Ross Vintage 126 chronograph,
: black with white subdials on bracelet, and
: an Omega SMP black.
: In consideration for the next watch are: the
: Omega Railmaster, the Speedy Pro, and the
: Planet Ocean (black), and the Breitling
: SuperOcean (runner-up when the SMP was
: purchased).
: Anyone have any thoughts. I do not wish to
: duplicate the current watches' styles, and
: the Planet Ocean does seem very close to the
: SMP, but it is gorgeous.
: I know the decision is personal, but any
: comments are appreciated. Thanks.
I'd rule out the Breitling right off the bat. I had one and sold it. I never did like its cheap feeling bracelet, and its movement is inferior to the Omega movements. Plus, it has a higher MSRP than the Seamaster.
The three Omegas are all nice watches. I think the PO looks very different from the SMP black 2254.50, so this would be a nice addition to your collection. The Railmaster is a nice piece if you'd like a watch on a strap rather than a bracelet. Both the PO and the Railmaster have co-axial movements, so they are worth the money in my opinion. The Speedy Pro Moon Watch is a different animal since it is manual wind, has a plastic (hesalite crystal), and has a chronograph function. It is a nice piece for a real Omega fan.
I noticed that all of your choices have black dials and your two current watches have black dials as well. I assume you wouldn't be interested in a Bond SMP or a white face GMT? Both of these are nice Omegas as well.
Anyway, just my two cents for what it's worth...
