: Please excuse my ignorance but I'm curious: How
: does Tissot compare to Omegas?
: Where are Tissot on the spectrum of watch
: brands?
Both Tissot and Omega are owned by the Swatch Company. Tissot is considered to be a middle ranged brand of Swatch along with Union, Calvin Klein, Certina, Mido, Hamilton, and Balmain. Omega is known as one of the prestige brands (that's 2 categories above Middle) of Swatch, along with Breguet, Jaquet Droz, Leon Hatot, and Blancpain.
At the low end, there is Swatch (not to be confused for the whole company) and Flik Flak.
All Swatch group members are Swiss made (hence the name: SwissWATCH).
Basically, Tissot and Omega are owned by the same company, but Tissot is of the middle range breed.
Kind of like: Jaguar is to Ford.... as Omega is to Tissot..
If you hate Fords, then: Cadillac is to Chevy... as Omega is to Tissot.
