If I'm in the wrong place, please direct me. But I'm guessing some folks here can help me out.
I'm looking for a $500 to $1000 watch that can handle water like my 2531.80 and w/ attributes of the Casio G-Shock. Finding some military watch sites which are fascinating, and in particular, came across the Marathon SAR. (Okay, yeah, it looks a lot like the Sean Connery Rolex, and I admit that's an interest.)
There is a new quartz version that holds no interest to me. Automatic chronometer version still available, w/ and w/o the "cyclops" lens to magnify the date. Comes on a band of some sort, but has a bracelet. I'd probably switch it out to NATO band. I understand it is a heavy, thick watch, altho would appreciate any thoughts on how that might compare to my Seamaster.
Looking to discuss this further. If there are forums, and an OEM site w/ specifications, I'm really interested in that as well. Maybe you like something better, based on "needs" I've described. I bike, kayak, and do some beach stuff on Michigan lakes during the summer. Maintaining a second "knock about" SMP doesn't feel right to me (altho you may tell me that anything less would be a mistake).
Thanks in advance....
