2599.80.00 servicing

My SMP chronograph (checked against Atomic clock)gained about a second a day while checked over several months. After having it serviced for a broken jewel (I'm that golfing guy who posted a while back) it was returned and now it loses about 5 seconds a day. I took it to Swatch Canada and watched as they checked it on an osciliscope type of device. The technician advised it was only gaining a second according to their test but with the chronograph running it was losing a second. How can this be? Their equipment appeared to be pretty hi-tech. An articulated arm on the machine automatically moved it into several different attitudes while it took measurements so what could account for the discrepancy between their conclusion and my findings over several weeks of checking? Also, I was under the impression that running the chrono only affected the power reserve time? Well-they have my watch for another two weeks so I'll see when I get it back...meanwhile I'll keep my fingers crossed!
