Buying a second hand watch can be quite tricky. One recommendation I can give is that it's extremely important to know the seller. A watch can be pretty good shape from outside, but can be in total bad shape from the inside.
If you would ask me, in order to avoid unnecessary future hassles and disappointments with a second hand watch, I would get a new moon watch, but this is just my personal opinion.

: "My husband is a pilot and I'd like to get
: him a true "moon watch" for
: Christmas. I need some help on pricing and
: sources. I don't want to buy a new watch,
: but rather one from the time of the moon
: flights that might just as well have gone.
: Thanks!"
