how to use chronograph_New owner

Hi! I become a new owner 3513.50 Speedmaster(day only version).
It looks nice and gives more pleasure than Omega 120m which I was wearing. Because this is the first chronograph watch, I don't know how to use it. For example, when I stop using chronograph, the second hand is not moving at all while second hand in small dial keeps moving.
I cannot understand why second hand is not moving at all.
If you guide how to use it, it will be appreciated. Have nice holidays.
