Re: CHRONOMETER BEATS ATOMIC!!!

: Nice story. I will probably get attacked like
: poor Georges was by Equilibrium 101 , but I
: just got a watch winder , an atomic clock
: and had my 1985 Rolex Datejust serviced by
: Rolex NYC. On the winder, the Rolex has kept
: perfect time with the atomic clock for a
: month. I had not had it serviced in over 20
: years. Over those twenty years I never
: noticed a problem with it. It was just
: winding down too much of the long weekends.
: Rolex takes three weeks to recalibrate it
: and replace the parts. They make sure it is
: up to specs for all the money you spend.
: Their service center feels more like a
: corporate office than a place to get your
: watch fixed.
: So far there has not been one second of
: variation. I have them both side by side.
: That may be due to the winder which is
: precisely set for the Rolex. Or it may be ,
: as Georges says, that Rolex makes great
: watch movements.
: I am buying an Omega to save the wear and tear
: on my DJ. And to have a sportier look.
: Looking at the SMP and the AT. Hardest
: choice: blue dial like my DJ or a black dial
: for a change of pace.

Well I wasn't attacking him:-), just merely pointing out that individual experience does not automatically make or brake a watch brand. Just because(in his case)he or someone he knew had great experience with Rolex it doesn't really prove anything and therefore should not be used as a measure of "greatness".
