Re: PST watches (Omega Sellers)

: The simple answer is that you SHOULD take it to
: an authorized Omega retailer to verify its
: authenticity. This will put your mind at
: ease given that you bought the watch from
: total strangers. These guys are not
: authorized Omega retailers, they simply deal
: in second-hand watches. You probably didn't
: get a warranty card because the guy they
: bought it from bought it "gray
: market" so it never had one in the
: first place. Or, the warranty may have
: expired so the original owner discarded it.
: There's no way to tell for sure.

: Either way, your watch has no factory warranty
: without an authorized dealer stamped and
: dated warranty card or a copy of the
: original receipt showing it was purchased
: from an authorized Omega retailer.

Thanks for the reply. I have already checked the serial number with Omega and they confirmed that the watch is genuine. But someone with access (even momentarily) to the real watch could engrave a copy of the serial to a replica. Could an authorised retailer tell a fake from an original if the serial and all the other details & markings check out? Is there a fee for the retailer? Any other sources?
