I have simular sized wrists, and I chose the midsize Seamaster. I decided that the midsize look, was more in harmony with my taste.
My guess it that the watch is designed to "fit" the wrist, and not appear too big. I don't think Omega would have bothered making a midsize, if they designed the Seamaster as an "oversize watch".
That being said, I do like the look of big watches - just not on small wrists. "Oversize watches" need big wrists - to give the "robust" look.
