Hi
The 1a must be the highest grade of valjoux if I understood your post well. But the construction of of the valjoux 7750 has nothing of a high quality chrono movement. The highest grade self winding cam operated chrono available on the market is the lemania 1350 found in the breguet Type XX, Type XXI, Ebel 137 and Tarawa and before found in the Rainer Brand Carcassone Chrono. The 1350 was rebuilt in the 90's on the base of the lemania 1340 which served as the base caliber of automatic speedmaster and seamasters chronos from 1971 to 1977.I don't see myself paying +$3000 or +$2000 simply because the watch has a valjoux 7750. This movement has only drawbacks for me: poor power reserve, horrible pushers feeling, needs service every 5 years, too common, poor movement finish and nothing that makes it a highly regarded movement. I would rather have a 5100 over a 7750 any day.I never considered Eta as a prestigious company when it comes to movements plus the problems that occur with watches powered with eta 2894-2 fitted with crappy dd chrono module, make me dislike Eta even more.
just my opinion
regards
georges
