Problem with vintage Omega Geneve automatic

Greetings! I just bought a vintage Omega Geneve automatic with Swiss caliber 1012 and back case signed inside Omega Watch Co. 166.0190. The watch has a quickset date function. I tested it the evening that I bought it, and it was working fine and keeping good time. However, when the time came for the date to change, the watch seemed to get stuck at around 11:54pm. It moved very slowly to 11:56 pm before the date completely changed from Dec. 2 to Dec. 3. ie. from 2 to 3 in the date window. All in all, the watch lost a total of eight minutes when changing the date. In other words, the watch was synchronized to actual time before changing the date, and after changing the date, the watch became eight minutes slow. After losing eight minutes, it seems to be keeping good time again now at 1:15 am, though it is off by eight minutes. My question is how is that problem resolved, ie. losing time when changing date. I know the local authorized Omega service center here. Should I bring the watch there or should I just return it to seller. The seller says try it for a few more days and wind it 30 times. Does this type of repair cost a lot? Thanks in advance for any answers and help.
