In Response To: Worth keeping it. ()

Hi,

Merci bien. Thank you so much for your kind comments, Georges. I am indeed keeping it. Interestingly, the date changed last night without any hitch or loss of time. When I brought the watch to the Omega Service Center, they actually said that there was nothing they could see wrong with it, but if I wanted a full service of the movement, they were charging a flat fee of 200 US dollars including parts and a one month wait. I think the most probable reason the watch slowed down the first time I had it, was that I very foolishly pulled out the crown and almost reset the date at that moment close to midnight while the date was changing. I know this was a no no for automatic watches with date set, but I almost half consciously did it before I realized what I was doing because I was very sleepy at that moment and suddenly felt the urge to synchronize the time then. But perhaps I was on the first click for date change and not the second click for time change before I realized what I was doing. But right now, the watch works perfectly, changes the date well without loss of time, and also keeps fairly good time. I think it needs regulation though so it can hit that +1 sec per day accuracy if ever. interestingly, I do own another 9 year old automatic watch that gives me +2 secs per day after I had it regulated and serviced at the authorized brand service center. Thanks so much again for your kind comments. (And I am so excited to have snagged me a caliber 1012.)

Regards,

Joey
