Vintage for daily wearing not a problem
In Response To: Vintage Omega, Daily Wear ()

Hi

To answer your question the older Omega inhouse movements were and are of far far better quality than eta based movements due to many things:
-jeweled pivot winding system
-swan neck or triovis regulation precision system better accuracy regulating system than the basic etachron
-better power reserve
-they are more solid movements than etas and are references that are and were the best rolex competitors in terms movements.
For your information my 1951 semaster cal 344 bumper automatic watch ticks at +3/+5sec per day.
Older inhouse Omega movements were and are something that get more and more attention by collectors not to mention that price on vintage omegas are rising up mainly due to the quality of the product. For many collectors older inhouse Omega movements are still better than Eta based calibers. But then when it comes to watch collecting, everyone is different and likes different things.
Good luck in your purchase.

regards

georges
