Hi
I think that if the watch hasn't a screw down crown, wasn't water resistant tested which means seals changed and pressure tested it is not worth to risk to damage it in the water.Even if the watch has been water resist tested, generally it is advised not to dive or swim with a watch fitted with a non screw crown escpecially a vintage one. Even with a diver watch with a screwn down crown, the seals have to be checked each year for perfect water resistance and seals have to be changed each 5 years.
good luck whatever you decide
regards
georges
