Here's how I see Omega Pricing
In Response To: Omega Pricing ()

Hi Myles,

Please let me start by saying that I have only ever ONCE, bought a new watch. ( It was a Citzen Divemaster ), so my thoughts a purely that. Just thoughts.

I think a 10% increase in price is probably acceptable. As you state it is quite a bit lower than their major competitors. I'm sure the Omega Marketing departnent have done their homework & know just how much the market can/will accept.

I actually see this as quite a clever move on Omega's part. Since they are percieved as being better value for money ( compared to their main competitors )

HOWEVER ! You should look at the pricing of their NEW models. Most of the NEW models that Omega introduce a NOTICEABLY more expensive than their old models.

So in this way, they can claim they increased their prices LESS than any of their major competitors, but the average price of a new Omega has probably increased WAY more than the announced price rises.

That's the way I see the world.

Steve
