Omega, Tag & Rolex
In Response To: Re: Omega Pricing ()

Guys,

I don't think many of us here are normal. Normal guys have 1 watch & don't think about it too much.

My brother-in-Law is "normal".

He plays the "corporate game", he is working his way up the corporate ladder.

He has no interest in watches, other than they tell the time & "say" something about him.

He wore a pretty bland Citizen for a few years. Then he got a promotion. He knew what most of the guys around & above him wore, so he moved onto a "plain" Tag.

With the next promotion he moved onto a Tag Chronograph ( you know the "Link" model that Tiger Woods advertised ).

Recently he had another promotion & has moved onto a Rolex GMT II ( Pepsi bezel ).

I asked him about an Omega..... His reply was along the lines of... "No-one wears them. If you're aiming for, or are already at the top, it HAS to be a Rolex "

The funny thing is.... he thinks I'm an idiot for having so many watches.... & I think he's an idiot for letting his job / aims / boss decide which watch he should have.

Isn't it funny how different people see the world differently

I'm eagerly waiting for his next promotion & looking forward to getting a GMT II :-)

Steve
