Hello, all. I'm shopping for my first luxury watch and I'm 99.9% sure it will be an Omega. I'm not looking for responses, but please feel free to reply if you have any comments. I just need to put my thoughts out there before my mind explodes. lol
My choices:
Speedmaster Professional: Oh, yes. I will have one. No doubt. What a freakin' cool piece of gear. The problem is that it's not in my short-term financial plans. I'm afraid one of the other watches on my list will jump onto my wrist before I can afford a Speedy Pro. With that said, I don't know if I want the "standard" Speedy Pro or the display-back version.
Seamaster Pro black: My original. The watch I was going to get before I found out about the Speedy Pro. It's a watch I still want and I am a diver so it makes sense. It would be something I could wear diving since the Speedy Pro isn't water resistant enough.
Seamaster Pro blue (James Bond): This one is growing on me. I originally wanted the black, but the idea of a Speedy/SMP one-two punch really would make a great collection. The idea of the Seamaster in blue and the Speedmaster in black is great. Of course, it will take me 10 years to get them both.
Anyway, those are my thoughts. I really want the Speedmaster, but part of me feels more comfortable buying the less-expensive Seamaster that is COSC certified, automatic winding, and sapphire crystaled.
Ah, who am I kidding? There is no logical reason. I know me. If I have the funds here shortly to buy an Omega I want it will be real hard not to go do it. :)
I get my "fun money" in spurts. I could afford an SMP in a few weeks, but after that the money to make up the difference for a Speedmaster could take a while. I'm weak. I know. lol
