No questions asked

Once again, I find myself in complete agreement w/ Mr. Rochowicz.

My AD has a no questions asked 10 day return policy. Some time back, I called 2 days after buying an SeMPC that was running outside of Omega precision accuracy specifications, and he agreed to replace it, but had to order one for that. Had me keep the original piece until the new one came in, then swapped them out "no questions asked."

(Logic in having me keep depreciating that watch and bracelet for a week? Glad you asked: So I wouldn't go to any of the other handful of ADs w/in 30 minutes of here w/ a copy of his sales receipt for them to match his price!)

As John rightly says, it costs them NOTHING to do this. They send it back to Omega and they get full credit. On the other hand, my AD knows that I'm not going to shop my Omega business -- unless he gives me reason to do so by making me wait 2 weeks for "repairs" on a watch that should have been right (according to ME) in the first place. Beyond Omega, he also wants my jewelry business for my own precious Quartz Queen.

If I may just "muse" out loud here to the site masters that be: Any thoughts on creating a "praise page" for ADs we like? I know it could be sticky business to list ones we've had bad trade with. But I suspect that a number of dealers would appreciate being mentioned, and that it would also be a way of giving folks like Jim a little clout boost.
