Jim,
I agree that you should get a new watch.
However my suggestion is to go to Omega Customer service in Switzerland.
I recently bought a Seamaster Professional Titanium which retails in OZ for AU$4,125.00
After reading this forum and others I decided to ask for my COSC certificate after I have owned the watch for about a month.
To make a long story short the movement was over 5 years old before the watch was assembled in Switzerland.(read sat in the AD's stock)
They offered me two options a Free Service or alternatively a replacement watch and COSC certificate with the watch assembled for me to order form Fresh stock with the Certificate.
Obvious which I took.
The point is that Omega offered this and arranged for the Marketing Manager of the Swatch group in OZ to contact me to organise the swap. This she did the next day and I got to keep my SeMPC for the three weeks that it took for the new one to be made and shipped to Australia. The AD didn't get involved, it was all the distribution arm of the Manufacturer.
I think if you are having trouble with the AD go to Omega Customer service via their web site. They have a reputation to protect and one exchange watch does not represent a mayor issue for them versus the free publicity they get from a happy customer ( like me!)
Likewise one exchange watch is not worth the bad press that they get on enthusiasts sites like this one.
Hope this helps, but I would really recommend cutting out the middleman in this instance.
