I don't wear my watch in the shower at home but one thing to consider; while on a recent trip to Bermuda my friend took off his watch to shower off after swimming in the ocean every day. Needless to say he ended up leaving it on the clothing hook one day and losing it. I never take mine off unless at home as a result of his experience.
