How was 2005 for you ??

Hi Guys,

2005 is coming to an end. How was it watchwise for you ?

Did you fill any dreams ? Buy anything ? Sell anything ? Miss anything, that you should have bought ?

For me, I started the year PROMISING myself & family that I had all the watches I wanted & all I was going to do was "look"... ha ha ha dream on...

I only bought a "few". I sold a few Seikos ,via eBay, that have sat in a drawer for a few years & financed some of my "new" Omegas with that money.

what did I get ?

well here's one of 'em ....

I know very little about these watches. I first saw it on a french website, covering dive watches. They list it as the SHOM seamaster & state that the French marine divers ( le service hydrographique de la marine ) were issued with these.

Mine has absolutely no markings/engraving on the case anywhere. I don't believe that mine was a miltary watch.

I have never seen it in ANY official Omega leaflet, brochure or Catalogue.

I HAVE however seen it in the Omega Museum & know that it is a genuine watch.

I have a number of Dive Seamasters & wanted this one as soon as I saw it. The trouble is that that I've rarely seen one since then. One came up in the "bay" in January, but the seller pulled the auction.

I found mine at the Munich watch fair in Feb 2005

I'm pretty sure mine is "correct". The right dial, hands & bezel. ( If anyone else has one or knows of a good info source on them PLEASE let me know .)

A few details about it. Uni-directional bezel ( same bezel as on the 200M in the "flightmaster case" ), screw down crown, automatic 1012 movement, Hour & Minute hands have black edges, second hand has white edges. it takes a 22mm strap, so I put it on a mesh

A new Crystal , fresh seals & it'll be "right as rain"

so.... what's next ?

I have no idea. I just take 'em as they come.

Steve
