Re: How was 2005 for you ??
In Response To: How was 2005 for you ?? ()

2005 was a good watch year for me. I finally put some money down on a 36mm AT Co-Axial after yearning for it for the last three years. Hopefully, I'll be able to pay it off within the next 3-4 months. I also scored myself a 42mm PO after selling a LOT of Omegas ( I work in a watch store) and it has been a truly awesome watch.
But for the last six months, I've had a real hankering for a vintage Seamaster 300 from the late '60s. And I still have a thing for the current black-dialled SMP. Oh yeah, I also have a Bond SMP which has served me well over the last five years.
So here is my dilemma. Should I really own four Omega dive watches, three of which bear an uncanny resemblance to one other? Or should I disregard chasing after the black SMP and just go for a vintage Seamaster 300? True, there are worse problems I could have. Like the trip to the dentist last month where he extracted 3 teeth and told me I would need a titanium implant to fill in the gap left by one of the teeth. The cost? Four grand! I told him I could get a titanium Oris dive watch for fifteen hundred, but he didn't get the joke. Maybe all that cotton gauze in my mouth was making me mumble.
So, I had planned to get myself a pre-1983 Rolex Submariner 5513 when I turned 40 (in about two-and-a-half weeks), but that ain't gonna happen. Pardon the pun, but it looks like I'll be putting my money where my...ahh, you know the rest.
Bring on 2006! And Happy New Year to you all.
