As far as water resistance, I think a good indication is having a dive watch with a helium valve. This is a known problem when you dive over 100m deep, as you can no longer breath compressed air and live. Below 10mm meters you have to go to oxygen and helium, and the helium molecule is SO small that it can get through ANYTHING. Watch seals, plastic films, anything but solid metal itself. In addition, diving deeper than 100 meters is definitely a risky proposition under any circumstances, so a watch that's advertised for that use had damn well better be able to perform as indicated, because somebody's life WILL be depending upon that watch continuing to work. Getting titanium instead of gold or steel is just making it even more bombproof, which is why I bought mine.
