This is my favorite watch, and was my first "prestige" mechanical watch.
Goods:
- Classic JB Seamaster look.
- Superb Omega customization of the 7750.
- Extremely clean and well executed face design. Look real hard at the JB Chrono face and the typical Breitling Chronomat face and see which you like better (you just might like the Chronomat better, though). Check out the JB Chrono's markers, size and positioning of luminescent markers, etc. See how the skeleton hands (much like the Speedy Pro's baton hands) minimize occlusion of the date and subdials. Also see the metal rings on the edges of the subdials. Check out how the "busy" fraction of a second and five second/minute numerals are tucked up on the edge of the pie pan where you don't notice them unless you look for them.
- JB Seamaster 9-link bracelet and two button security clasp.
Others
- A very thick watch. Not nearly so big as the AP Offshore, but big and of course...
- Real heavy in stainless steel. Ti feels about the same to me as the Speedy Pro. In all honesty, though, for overall "big chrono" comfort, the thinner case of the Speedy Pro makes it more comfy to me than the ti JB chrono.
A handfull of us over at the TZ Omega forum think the JB Chrono is the best dive chrono made, and argueably, the best sports watch overall. But, a lot of folks think the same thing about other watches.
Best,
Jeff
- Chrono pushers function underwater.
