Could someone describe to me the symptoms of the 1109 winding gear issue? I have a SMPC I got new in 1997 and haven't yet heard back from Omega on whether it's an 1109 or 1120, based on the S/N. It's been having issues since it's most recent service by an authorized/certified Omega guy. It's been back once after failing to run more than 3 hours. After the second trip, it would run for 3-4 days, but only if I gave it a manual wind every A.M. When I wound it by hand, it made an odd little click after every 10 or so turns. After missing a meeting when it stopped one morning, I decided to test it by giving it a good wind (around 50 turns) and letting it run on my desk until it stopped. 22 1/2 hours, but now it will not restart at all. Please note that this watch had been in for service once before, about 5 years ago, and ran very well until it started to slow down a bit, which is what prompted the recent service. The jeweler who handled this has offered to do "whatever it takes" to make it right.
Sorry to go on about it, but this is my one really good watch and was an anniversary gift from my wife.
Does the above sound like an 1109?
