Every so often I see a Post here from someone asking what's on the wrist list for the weekend. I'm pretty consistent w/ my SeMPC 2254.50, except--
Well, I was preparing for a pretty high stakes meeting this week. As I was dressing to head out, I noticed my "Bond" Seamaster Chronometer calling to me from its pristine leather case. And something said, "this is one of those 2531.80 events." In less than a minute, I had it wound, date corrected, and synchronized to my 2254.50 time. Then I was out the door.
The watch was sufficiently different from what I'm used to that it continued to grab my attention. It was just a good feeling, you know? Not like I thought I was James Bond, nor that I would ever even say anything to the quartz-mongers I was up against. But an "ego boost," surely, and "edge" that really made a difference.
Anyone else look at his or her watch this way? (And if you've had fantasies about zapping someone w/ a Q-Branch modification, all the better!)
