I don't know if Omega releases information on their best selling watches (and the number of each watch sold per year), but I was thinking about what their "top ten" list for 2005 might look like. If I had to guess, I'd say (in no particular order):
1. Bond Seamaster Pro model 2531.80
2. Black Seamaster Pro model 2254.50
3. Planet Ocean 42mm, black bezel, bracelet
4. Planet Ocean 45.5mm, black bezel, bracelet
5. Planet Ocean 42mm, orange bezel, bracelet
6. Planet Ocean 45.5mm, orange bezel, bracelet
7. Seamaster GMT white dial model 2538.20
8. Speedmaster Pro "Moon Watch" model 3570.50
9. Seamaster Aqua Terra co-axial (can't guess a specific model)
10. Seamaster Bond GMT model 2535.80
I'm basing this list on a few assumptions. The Planet Ocean models are new and have been huge sellers this year. The Bond GMT is also fairly new, so I would expect this to be a reasonably big seller as well. We already know that the Bond and black SMP's are two extremely popular models. The Aqua Terra line is also popular, but there are so many different dial colors and sizes available that it would be difficult to say which one sells the best. The Speedy Moon Watch will always sell because of its historical significance. The white GMT was just a guess since it seems to be far more popular than the black one among people who post pictures online.
I didn't include any Constellations or DeVilles since these are dressier models that probably don't sell as well as the sportier Seamasters. So, 9 out of the 10 watches on my list are in the Seamaster line. My list may be incorrect, but I think it's a safe bet to say that the Seamaster line is Omega's best selling line overall.
Does anyone else have any guesses or actual data from Omega?
