"Prepare two envelopes..."

What to do? Posted By: Mike B. Date: 12/28/05 03:33 GMT

Well, well. USPS brought me a used but pristine condition Planet Ocean 42mm black/black today. I bought it from another user of a popular internet sales forum for a great price. I sent him a check on faith, he sent me a watch on his word. Many thanks to A. Theodore for keeping his word. Ok, now the problem(s). 1) I did not tell the wife I bought it, and 2)I already have a 2054.50 that I love dearly, and 3) the wife needs a watch and I promised that she would get a new one before I got one. Im stuck between a wife and a hard place. Any suggestions would be appreciated. In the meantime im gonna have the PO sized and ready to wear.

There is the old joke about a Baseball manager who just got the job and in looking through his desk he found two envelopes: One labeled "Open on occasion of first crisis", the second "Open on occasion of second crisis". The manager decided not to throw them away and went about his business...

As he took over the job in mid season, there weren't very high expectations for the team, it finished the season playing about the same, perhaps a little better than before, the next season the team improved a noticeable bit and the coach was, looking forward to the next season.

The next spring the team lost their first 12 games and 17 out of the first 20 games, the press wanted the manager's head, and it looked like they were going to get it. He remembered the envelopes in the desk and he opened the first one... Inside was a card that read:

"Blame Me!"

So the coach blamed the manager who had coached the team prior to him, he said he inherited a bad situation and things were getting better as last year showed, but there were going to be rough stretches. The press had to admit he had a point and they got off his case and the team got hot, breaking .500 within two months and was neck and neck for first place when the team fell apart in late August and the press and the fans was on him again. Remembering the great advice in the first envelope he opened the second one... Inside was a card that read...

"Prepare two envelopes..."

I don't know if this helps, but good luck man!
