: Hey guys,
: I think I heard from this forum that Pierce
: Brosnan has 'retired' as an Omega
: Ambassador. I also heard that Omega will
: still be used as Bond's watch in Casino
: Royale. So will that mean Omega will replace
: Brosnan with Craig as an ambassador?
: Even this is not an Omega question, "Does
: Rolex give most of its profits to
: charities?"
: I read this factoid somewhere, and am just
: curious if any of you fellas no anything
: about that....
: PS. Sorry about the absense... My high speed

: Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy

Welcome back and Happy Holidays to you, too, Joey.
Omega did confirm, in their words, that "James Bond is an Omega ambassador, NOT Pierce Brosnan". So, to answer your question, Brosnan will be out the door soon as an Omega ambassador. They have not posted anything official regarding whether Mr. Craig will become an ambassador. Clearly Mr. Craig will have some say in whether he chooses to become one.
I can't answer your Rolex question as I have absolutely NO IDEA.
As for Teeritz's comments, I agree with him that a DeVille or Aqua Terra would look dressier for those suit and tux wardrobes that Mr. Bond always wears. However, there have been lots of rumors out there about what the next Bond watch will be. Some say it will remain the 2531.80, others say it will be the Planet Ocean, and still others claim it will be a vintage Omega.
I have been analyzing this over and over in my mind and I see no reason why Omega would choose a vintage watch. Even if the Bond people choose to set the story back in time, putting a vintage watch on Bond's wrist won't allow Omega to market NEW watches to customers. Using the Planet Ocean would make sense because it looks like the older Seamaster 300, it has become a huge seller for Omega, and it looks classy enough to wear with a suit or a tux (with the black bezel of course). Also, Bond was a Naval commander, so I see him sticking with a diver's watch.
Just my 2 cents....
