I just got my first automatic watch also - the same as yours. I also quite clearly hear the rotor when I move my wrist, so I guess it's normal. As for turning the crown, mine behaves the same.

Can you tell me if on your watch you have a small red dot on the back case just bordering where it meets the strap? You may have to look in the grooves. Apparently it's normal to have one but mine is not there.
