Well, it is true that the DeVille is not a diver's watch and has a low water resistance rating, so going diving with a watch on a leather strap isn't something I'd expect from that watch, anyway. I can see putting a diver's watch on a rubber strap, but no one's going to go jump in the ocean with their watch on a premium alligator strap.

I just think that from a "wear and tear" perspective a bracelet is definitely the way to go. Only my opinion, though.
