Hi, I was wondering if someone could diagnose a problem with a c.1954 ladies Omega (244 movement) I bought for my wife recently.
When I first bought the watch it could be set and wound without a problem, and was keeping good time. However sometimes after pushing the crown back in, it didn't start ticking immediately.
However, now, after pushing the crown back in the watch cannot be wound. Turning the crown simply moves the hands. The watch is (as I type, and probably for a few more hours...) still running with a healthy tick.
I'd appreciate any advice as to the possible problem and likely cost/ease of repair. I'm in Japan so am a little worried about finding a good watch-maker. Thanks!
