When I was in Grand Cayman a couple weeks ago(seems like a lifetime ago), I tried on a new speedmaster shumacher edition, and lo and behold when I reset the chrono function it did not reset to 0. Off the cuff, I can not remember if it was the original model or one of the new ones, although I believe it was the original one. So, beware, there are still ones "on the shelf" with problems.
