Re: About that 2531.80 thing again

: Personally, I think this is a bad idea if it is
: indeed true. First of all, a co-axial
: 2531.80 will cost well over $3000 as Keith
: pointed out. Second, those of us with
: current "used" Bond SMPs will have
: watches worth perhaps $1000 at most if we
: sold them privately. So, are we willing to
: spend 4 figures more for the exact same
: watch just because it has the co-axial
: escapement? I really doubt it.

: I think Omega should leave the current SMPs
: alone and focus on creating new models with
: the co-axial escapement. It just doesn't
: make a lot of financial sense (or marketing
: sense) to produce the exact same watch with
: an upgraded movement and slap a $1000
: premium on it. Heck, with my dealer's
: discount it only cost a bit over $1300 for
: the last SMP I bought. Now I'm going to
: shell out $1000 more for a co-axial variant
: of the same watch I own??? I think not.

: Only my two cents....

I agree totally!! I don't think the co-axial upgrage would be a good idea on the 2531.80-it's already almost a classic--why mess with it?
