Re: Buying Omegas
In Response To: Buying Omegas ()

i'm also in no way rich by any standards (monetary standards anyways). and i only have my one omega- a bond gmt (my other watches are a tissot t-touch, a seiko diver, a festina chronograph and my timex beaters- one non-beater watch a year since college mind you), but i naturally tend to penny pinch throught the year... buying stuff only if/when they go on sale and ONLY IF i NEED it... no little impulse purchases that add up (a cd here, a dvd there, none of that)... no alcohol (only drink water).. no smoking (dang, those are expensive)... no clubbing... and at most, two starbucks drinks a month... etc... etc... end up saving a few hundred a month and at the end of the year... woo hoo, a bunch of money to blow on anything i want. this is then used the following year for computers, vacations, watches, etc. no regret.

this year is supposed to be a new computer year, but i can't seem to part with my 3yr old swivel head imac, so instead i bought my fancy new watch... at a good price for sure... and of course i use a credit card for the protection but i promptly pay it off that billing period.
