Nice to post over here. Glad to see so much partication and that the forum is very active.

Well, we're not main street yet... There are Omega discussion forums with far more traffic and most of us participate over there too, but I feel we're moving in the right direction with the right people and I think the best days of the Chronocentric Omega discussion forum are in the future.

One thing about the '57, the 1998 bracelet is just too modern for it IMO.

I agree absolutely... It's not not the right personality for a "retro" inspired watch.

I took it off immediately. I purchased an 1171 with the proper end links just to have a bracelet option. I'm glad Omega still makes this bracelet for those who want that vintage look to their Speedmasters.

Yeah, I like the 1171 too... It's not a _great bracelet, but it's a sizeable upgrade from most of the bracelet's that Omega issued in the 1960's and early 1970's and I find I don't get worked up about original bracelets even on vintage models, because I know I'll likely need additional links anyway, so I might as well stick with the more comfortable, more durable, and I think better looking 1171.

But I'm liking this Rios buffalo strap so much, I'm probably not going to go with the bracelet until the summer.

Yes, Rios makes some great straps. I picked up s slew of Rios Perforated straps from Nick Gararro about 18 months ago and they are great straps. Follow the link I enclosed... You might find something you like. They impart a great '50's ~ '60's sporting vibe to any chronograph watch!

Cheers and congrats on your '57 and your photo technique!
