: I have a Speedmaster Date which gains about 4-6
: seconds/day, I have been reading that people
: have had their watches regulated to gain 1
: second every 24 hours, in any position,
: which sounds quite appealing to me, I was
: wondering how long it takes to do that if I
: were to take it to the Swatch Group Repair
: centre is it something that can be done in
: one day, or is the process itself very time
: consuming?
My regulation was completed in 24 hours. As Common Man said, Omega won't do this free of charge since it is not a warranty issue. However, I have a local watchmaker who is superb, and for $25 he regulated my Bond SMP from +4/+5 seconds/day down to +1.5 seconds per day. He made the adjustments the day I brought it in and then kept track of it for 24 hours to make sure it was as close to "zero" as he could get it. The next afternoon I picked it up and it has run perfectly since.
If you have a local watchmaker who is COMPETENT, that is your best bet. Just make sure he has experience regulating high-end watches.
