I think that you're a little overreacting!!!! Crown out or in? I don't think that it really matters. This post brings up a previous question I thought of: What are the effects of running a chronograph 24/7 as to not running it at all? After doing some research, I concluded that even running the chrono throughout the watch's life only affected its power reserve by less than 1%!!! That's amazing since the watch is now running 6 hands instead of three!
Keep in mind that the above applied to a mechanical chronograph. The watches you are talking about are quartz and do not rely heavily on gears and springs. You can store the watch any way you like. Personally, I would pull the crown out, but it truely wouldn't matter at all.
Enjoy your AT!!!!
