: Yes Rolex is a 100% manufacture and they
: manufacture their own chrono movements since
: 2000 with the introduction of the calibre
: 4130.
: New Omegas are good but they are not the same
: things like vintage Omegas. They are two
: very different things.

thanks again for the info Georges,
if omega want to be taken serious as a close rival to Rolex then surely they need to be manufacturing their own movements, not just buying them in ?
it also makes the new price increase even more harder to justify.
i have been considering upgrading my speedmaster to a new speedie Broad Arrow, however i am unsure now as i will be paying top dollar for a watch with a 'sourced' mechanism.
i
the mechanism is the heartbeat of the watch and this is why we spend lots of hard earned cash on these watches, i work for Porsche, and if we were to fit
a 'sourced' engine into the 911 then it would devalue 40 years of heritage and engineering excellence (the main reasons our customers purchase a 911) !

a fair comparison i think ?
