that is a good question actually. i was over in NYC last year and i thought about taking advantage of the strong English Pound by purchasing a watch whilst in the states. i checked a couple of largish dealers, and also checked the watch dept in Macy's , and by my reckoning when converting the $ back to £ , the watches did seem to be more expensive than in the UK.sometimes nearly £200gbp(380USD) more expensive..... make of this what you will, but perhaps it would explain the relative ease you guys manage to get discounts
