In Response To: 7 Days Until Price Increase ()

After seeing my friend John's "reminder" here, I decided to call a local chain that's an AD in my area. The manager there told me that they've had no notice of a price increase of any kind. However, when increases do come down "from corporate," they apply to all indicated models -- whether newly received, or in stock for however long they've had it in inventory.

It seems to me to me that this is the nature of distributor relationships: In most cases, they are as on the outside as we are.

John's post also got me thinking about a price increase if it is coming. Lots of stuff on here lately about the 2531.80 being one of Omega's best sellers. Then, the 2531.80 to be discontinued in favor of a co-axial version replacement. The new Bond film, Casino Royale, starts filming in -- oh, yeah: About 8 days: Yet no word on what the new 007 watch will be (in the face of huge press hype over the new Aston Martin he will drive).

If I were the suspicious type, I might wonder if this "rumor" weren't designed to clear out inventory....
