Re: Official word on James Bond "Casino Royale" wa

: As I'm sure the die hards know already, Casino
: Royale started lensing yesterday . And,
: w/out putting too fine a point on it: Scenes
: where any other James Bond would be expected
: to wear his 007 Omega.

: Yet, inexplicably, the official word I received
: upon inquiry to the Omega press office this
: morning is as follows: "...in the
: coming months we will issue a press
: release regarding this matter...."

: So-- to those of you w/ whom I've exchanged
: eMails over the past week regarding making
: purchases before the rumored price increase,
: there's your answer. I am also willing to
: put money on the fact that we'll actually
: see the watch for ourselves on
: Entertainment Tonight (or whatever the
: current TV tabloid is these days), and thus
: am beyond disappointed by these seeming lack
: of public relations saavy on the part of our
: brand.

: My goodness: Ford Motor Company is laying off
: 30,000 people (for what that says of their
: business situation), and they have managed
: to have their product placement investment
: working overtime (and apparently
: undistracted by other Bond-affiliated
: products) with Aston Martin DBS news
: everywhere you look.

Sad news, indeed. However, if the next Bond watch is the rumored co-axial Bond SMP, then we don't have to worry about a price increase since the model isn't even in the marketplace yet. If it's a Planet Ocean, we'll have to pay about $200 more tomorrow than we would today.

I was hoping for some news because I am again contemplating a Planet Ocean purchase, but I have to buy it today to save the $200.
