Well, Dell, I'm not going to reply to all your points 'cause I'd much rather continue to get ready for the Super Bowl. However, I begin to understand where you're coming from when you start the old Rolex vs Omega rhetoric. Most true Omega enthusiasts don't care to make those comparisons and I'm one of them. As for your Omega, comma point ---- When someone asks me what watch I'm wearing I reply OMEGA, period. If they want to pursue that further, then we can get into Moom Watch, James Bond, Etc. But, it's an Omega, and I'm proud to be able to own one (or more, in my case). I'm also proud of the fact that it's technically and cosmetically on par with Rolex for a much more realistic price. Rolex has done a great job of placing themselves at the top of the mass produced prestige watch market. Spell that PRESTIGE. They've done it with great marketing and a great watch. Not with just a great watch alone. Oh, enough of that.
So, as for Omega marketing, and truth in advertizing and all that jazz, I don't think my Son or his Son after that will be any less proud of the Omega I hand down to them fifty or a hundred years from now than I am of my Omegas right now. Marketing is and always has been just that, Marketing. You know, Marketing!
Let's just continue holding our collective breaths to see what Omega announces about the new James Bond watch. "Oh, you say it's going to be an Omega again? Why not a Rolex?" :-)
