In Response To: Seamaster quartz second hand ()

Hi Marcus ( or is it Marc ? ),

As John says this is the second time you've brought up this subject.

Here's a link to your original post

I'm not sure how many Seamaster quartz's you've seen in the flesh, but I see 2 possibilities for you.

1, Keep looking, one day you'll find one you like.

2, give up & buy " a cheap Seiko"( like your son's )

I own a few Omegas & a few Seiko's. To be honest they both perform just as well as each other. Does an Omega warrant a much higher price than a Seiko ? For me yes. That is why I have taken some of my money & bought some Omegas. I can't answer the question for you though.

Everybody knows you can go to your local discount store & buy a cheap digital watch that will keep amazing time for a few dollars, so an Omega or Seiko or whatever, is really not neccesary. It is a pure luxury. If all you need is something that tells the time, buy a cheap digital watch , or look at your mobile phone, or your PC, or the dashboard on the car..... whatever.

The watch you wear "says" something about you, your tastes, your income level ( or perceived income level ). This is one of the reasons I don't wear cheap digital watches. This is the reason some guys here have a "sports" watch, a "dress" watch & a "Suit" watch etc etc.

It is your money, you are the customer. You are free to take your money where you want & buy what you want. You are free to buy as many watches of whatever make you choose.

Most people who regularly surf here, ( be it to post, lurk, research, ask, read, learn etc etc ) have a common hobby.

Watches, collecting watches & a "higher than normal" interest for them.

We welcome a discussion. I welcome a discussion with differing opinions.

I don't really see the point in coming here & posting something which doesn't seem to have anything to "say" except an indirect critism of the participants here & a direct critism of this website.

You have made your point ( twice now ). I don't think you need to make this point a 3rd time.

I wish you well, whatever your choice.
