Oh, well I never actually finished watching a

Dalton as Bond movie. I couldn't bring my self to shell out for tickets and popcorn for a Bond movie with him, and when it came on cable, I flipped to it and watched for about 5 - 10 minutes before switching to something else. So I assume he wore a Rolex, but I definitely wasn't an eye witness to that.

I have a suspicion that the movies really don't sell as many watches as we might think. For myself, I needed a new watch and wanted to upgrade to something like the older Rolexes, not realizing that those had turned into more jewelry than wristwatch. The closest to the ideal in the jeweler's case was the black dial Seamaster, and I really didn't care a whole lot as to who wore it or didn't (Brosnan actually was wearing the blue Seamaster as Bond at the time).

So I wonder, as the asking price for an item goes up, how much demand movie placement really generates, unless it's just shear awareness that the brand is out there. Or maybe it's just that the movie placement gets a particular model in front of our eyes - not too many men haunt the jewelry cases usually, so maybe that's the only way most of us will ever see the Omega product.

I almost wish Bond wouldn't wear the orange PO, as I will then feel a little less special to have it. Again, that's very shallow on my part, but it is what it is. And I have no intentions of flipping mine, whether Craig wears it or not.
